She gave the elderly woman her button back as advised. The final moments of Drag Me to Hell were incredibly iconic because the audience is led to believe Christine broke the curse. She continues to research and attempt to figure out a way to save herself, but it doesn't happen because Christine doesn't survive the end of the movie. Christine goes through a variety of disgusting events, dealing with blood, vomit and other gross things that give Drag Me to Hell an organically Sam Raimi feel to it. She learns a dark spirit is haunting her, and this spirit continues to attack her. From there, curious things begin happening around Christine, and she's forced to visit a fortune-teller to get an explanation. In the parking lot, she's attacked by the woman who steals her button. The woman cries and begs, but Christine maintains her stance, and the elderly woman curses her. ![]() Her tough decision comes quickly when she decides to not extend an elderly woman's mortgage. Her boss tells her that she's too lenient on the people who come in and ask for extensions and loans, so he tells her he needs to see her making tough decisions to be considered. When he’s not writing, you can usually find him exploring the world or watching his favorite comfort shows like Pose and Modern Family.At the start of Drag Me to Hell, Christine is a relatively good person, but she wants a promotion at her job. After the torturous encounter, Christine was able to break the curse-or so she thought. So, justifiably, Christine is in all sorts of downward spiral. And while the scene causes a discussion about whether Christine deserved to be burned in hell for all eternity-in her defense-she had to deal with probably the most ferocious punishment a person can ever receive. In return, the old woman curses Christine with "Lamia," endangering her soul with eternity in hell-and the only thing she can do to escape her brutal fate is do every impossible thing, including killing her poor, innocent cat.
